She holds a chemical engineering degree from the Technical University of Hamburg as well as an MRes and a PhD degree from the UCL Energy Institute. For her PhD, she worked with 3 NHS hospitals to identify strategies for energy conservation in different hospital departments using various POE methods. After contributing to research projects in the UK, Germany and Latin America, Paula now works as Building Performance Manager for the design and build contractor BAM Construct UK. The role involves implementing a process for post occupancy evaluation within BAM’s projects, so that experiences from past projects can be used to improve the performance of future buildings – for the occupants, the clients and the environment.
